Turkish-ISA panels at the Annual Convention of the International Studies Association in New Orleans were a great success. Thanks for all the organizers, chairs, panelists, and the audience. In the coming months we shall be sending out a call for papers for Montreal, 2011.

It is our pleasure to announce that Turkish-ISA will be sponsoring the following
three panels at the ISA Annual Convention in New Orleans, Feb 17-20, 2010.
Having received more than 30 proposals, our review committee has made every
effort to be inclusive of various approaches and perspectives. The following
panels are now included in the official ISA program.

April: The elections for the Review Committee for the 2008 Turkish-ISA panels at the ISA, San Fransisco has ended.

The following scholars will be reviewing the submissions:

March 2007: 47 of our members attended our Meeting in Chicago, March 1 2007.
Several organizational matters and future directions of the association were discussed.
Three Decisions were reached:
A) The formation of a review committee that will oversee the Turkish-ISA panels for 2008 ISA convention in San Francisco by April. As decided in our meeting the review committee will be elected among those who volunteered to become a committee member in our meeting. Since the formation of the review committee will be responsible for the decisions on the paper  proposals due this May, for practical purposes the review committee ought to be decided upon shortly.
B) Proposals to amend the constitution and a vote on the proposed
changes to constitution in April 2007.
C) The formation of a nomination committee that will accept
nominations for the office positions and execute the election process
in April 2007.

Call for Vote
1) Please vote for your choice of nominees for the Review Committee for Turkish-ISA panels for 2008 ISA convention in San Francisco. There are 10 nominees who volunteered to become a review  committee member. Please vote for 6 of these nominees at the following address by April

2) Please send your comments and proposed amendments to our current constitution to
tisa@asu.edu by April 1. The current constitution is attached to this mail and is also available at our website: http://www.turkishisa.org. The proposals will be voted through the online Poll system of our Yahoogroup in April. Please be clear in your proposal and identify the reason why you would want an article or section changed.
As suggested in our annual meeting, the elections for officer positions will be held after the constitutional amendments.

TURKISH ISA MEETING AT CHICAGO March, 1, 2007

As you might have already heard, we will hold our First Annual Convention on Thursday , March 1: 12:00pm- 1:30pm  in Chicago at the annual ISA convention.

We've been in communication with the ISA headquarters for a meeting space and time. The name of the room that ISA has generously allocated for us is "Grand Tradition" (please check for updates when you get to the convention site). Acknowledging that we will be meeting during lunch time, you are welcome to bring your beverage, snack or sandwich.

 

We strongly urge you to participate in our meeting, as it is you who will shape the future direction of Turkish-ISA.

This is a special opportunity for you to meet your fellow colleagues. Among many other things:

1) You'll get acquainted with colleagues who work on Turkey

2) Discover opportunities for collaborative research projects

3) Find out publishing avenues for your paper

4) Explore the possibility of becoming an officer of our Association. Calenders

5) Become a jury member of Turkish-ISA to select papers for organized panels for next year's ISA convention

6) Survey the job-market

7) Elect officers and direct the future of our association

And many more social and scholarly opportunities.
